What Should I Wear To A Casting ?
Article Submitted By: The TMB TEAM
A client will generally have a concept for a shoot and will be able to see past your choice of clothes at a casting. Practical and uncomplicated clothes are preferred - do not try to make too much of a statement. Remember, the client probably wants to ‘mould’ you into their concept.

If you’re travelling to a casting then you should expect to be sitting on stuffy trains and walking around city streets. Therefore, wear layers that you can add and remove during your journey. Wear high heels at the casting as they give you height, good posture and shape. However, its best to travel in comfortable shoes, carrying your heels in a shoulder or other bag. Do not wear bulky clothes that will hide your shape. If you are wearing a coat make sure its quick and easy to remove (castings can be as quick as a few seconds). A sleeveless vest is a good way of demonstrating your shape.

If you are adamant about not appearing too generic and want to make some kind of statement then do so but don’t go over the top. Researching the job type can help you decide what to wear. For example, if your are travelling to a sports catalogue client then arriving in a style that helps you appear to be sporty would not harm your chances of landing the job.
