What should I Charge?
Article Submitted By: The TMB TEAM
There are no set ways to charge. Sometimes the client dictates the price; sometimes there is a set budget; other times the price is negotiable.

It is very difficult to give a set price for model. A successful model working for a high profile client on a large campaign may command a $90,000 day fee, whereas a ‘new face’ shooting editorial may not even have their travel expenses covered by their fee.

The best guide we can give you is to say that an established model’s day rate for editorial is approximately $380 (the client would also be paying a 20% agent fee).

It is difficult, especially when starting out in the business, not to be taken advantage of. However, making sure you are getting what you want from a shoot and working with reputable clients is a good way of getting to know how to work within the industry and to develop your negotiation skills.
