You’re portfolio, or as its known as in the industry, your ‘Model Book’ is basically a collection of your best photographs bound together in a book or uploaded into your profile. This is probably the single most important means of promoting yourself within the industry. Actual printed portfolios should be limited to a maximum of 25 – 35 pages, but can be as little as 4 – 6 pages. However, your Internet portfolio should be as full as possible. This is because, unlike a situation where you would be meeting somebody one on one, there are far less time constrains and a prospective client can browse your portfolio at their leisure.
TMB is community and the whole point of the service is to get you to network. Networking is all-important for the progression of your career. Use the email and comments systems, use the forums and chat rooms. Get yourself out there and get yourself seen.
The TMB Email system is a highly advanced service, delivering a complex number of functions in a very simple and user-friendly manner. By simply clicking on the email icon on a users profile you can contact them directly, alternatively if a member has a manager you can email the manager directly by clicking on the managers email icon. When you click on a members email icon you will be presented with a simple email form where you can leave a personalized message. Your sent email will include a mini version of your profile (Z-Card) and links to your full TMB profile. You will be shown a review of your sent message.
The advanced search facility on TMB has been created so that whoever you are looking for is just a few clicks away. For example if you’re looking for a tall, redheaded, semi professional model, working from New York specializing in glamour, simply select the criteria and hit search. The basic search facility allows you to browse for members by member type; sex, location etc. please see the “Member Search” section for the complete details of search options.
If you would like to work with or simply want to comment on a member’s profile. Then simply click on the comments section of a profile and leave your comment. You will also be able to view other member’s comments on the selected profile. |
